Phonetic typing is deliberately simplified: Thai has 44 consonants and vowels that are written before, after, above or below the consonant. Mapping table
Each Latin key produces its Thai letter; compound sounds are written with two letters. The ◌ sign shows the position of the consonant: the vowels เ, โ and ไ are written before it. Type the vowel first (o then t gives โต) and the tool automatically places it in front. Tone marks can only be inserted from the clickable keyboard.

Phonetic typing follows the common romanization of Thai: "maa" becomes "มา", "dii" becomes "ดี", "khaa" becomes "ขา". A peculiarity of the Thai script is that some vowels are placed before the consonant: type them first and the tool remembers เ, โ or ไ and automatically inserts them in front of the next letter, using the same buffer principle as our Arabic keyboard. This table is deliberately simplified; the clickable keyboard, inspired by the Kedmanee layout, fills in the rarer letters and the tone marks.
